Creating an AMA Session
1 Navigate to AMA Dashboard
Go to Creator Dashboard → AMA Sessions → "Create New Session".
2 Set Up Your Session
Fill in the details:
- Title: Clear, engaging topic (e.g., "AMA: Building a Writing Career")
- Description: What you'll discuss and who should join
- Start Date/Time: When the session begins
- End Date/Time: How long it runs (1-3 hours recommended)
- Allow Anonymous: Let users ask questions without revealing names
3 Promote Your AMA
Before the session starts:
- Announce it in a post to your followers
- Share on social media
- Pin the announcement to your profile
- Send reminders as the date approaches
4 Accept Questions
Once live, users can submit questions. You'll see them in real-time with:
- Question text and asker's name (or "Anonymous")
- Upvote count (popular questions rise to top)
- Timestamp
5 Answer Questions
Respond to questions during the session. Best practices:
- Start with highly upvoted questions
- Answer 10-20 questions minimum
- Be authentic and detailed
- Thank users for great questions
- Skip inappropriate or off-topic questions
After the AMA
When the session ends:
- All questions and answers remain visible
- Users can still read and upvote (but not ask new questions)
- The session appears on your profile
- You can reference it in future posts
